CARTER BOY!
Hi cutie. Wow you have been such a light and blessing. I can’t imagine life without you. You have a smile that lights up the room. And sometimes just sometimes we get to hear a little laugh. Your babbling is the cutest. And I’m pretty sure you associated mama with me. Your first word, whether you knew it was me or not. It meant the world. You have the most beautiful blue almond shaped eyes and dark hair. You are 100% that Greek god I envisioned. Everyone is obsessed with you and you’re definitely everyone’s favorite.
You recently started mimicking things and it so cute. You tilt you head to the right and wait for us to divot and then tilt it to the left and wait for us to do it. Whenever you see your dad you purse your lips together. It’s your little thing with him, so sweet. I love the way you make deep eye contact with anyone who picks you up. You stare straight into our souls. It’s almost like you’re seeing our spirits instead of us, who knows maybe you are. You give the best hugs! The kind of hugs that hurt because you squeeze so tightly. I bet they’ll just get better and better as you get older.
You’ve been so healthy. You’ve been sick a bit and haven’t had to go to the doctors. You’ve fought it off like a champ.
The biggest thing you’ve done so far this year is your pallet repair. I honestly wasn’t worried about it until the day before. It all hit me. Just how much I love you. I want the very best for you. I want you to live the best life possible. The surgery went really well. You were quite the champ. You recovered so quickly as well. You were in the hospital for two nights. Your sweet dad took the night shift because he’s an angel on earth. I took the day shift and mostly just held you as you slept in my arms. It was so nice. I got you to eat by mixing oatmeal and breast milk together, since you wouldn’t suck from your bottle, rightfully so. We brought you home and by the next day you were taking your bottle like a champ.
I can’t believe you’ll be one next month. What a wild ride it has been so far. Just know you are loved, you belong, and you have a beautiful life ahead of you.
Xoxo Mom
