18 months
Your nickname is Carter Boy. It’s cute and it stuck. Life with you is an adventure, we never know what’s coming up, but we sure enjoy all of it.
When you were born we had no idea how healthy you would be or what the future would hold. It’s been 18 months now and let’s just say life with you has been so wondeful.
You are so healthy, especially for a boy with Down syndrome, of course you get sick a lot, but you fight it off like a champion and haven’t been in any scary situations. We’re hoping you just get healthier and healthier. Even when you’re sick you are so enjoyable and happy. Unfortunately you were sick during Christmas but still gave us the best smiles.
You are learning and growing so much. You can crawl, but still choose to pull yourself to get around. It’s really cute and making you very strong. You can pull yourself up onto couches now and are spending more time on your knees and exploring. You’ll stand up if we’re holding onto which is really cute.
Your babbling more and say words. Mom, dad, Ella, ball, bath, splash, and you also do signing. Your favorite toy right now is your cube. It’s your best friend. You love pushing it down the stairs and watching it roll around.
We didn’t think your smile could get any cuter, but it did. We’ve started an instagram together. It’s called, Getting Down in the Kitchen, the hopes are to blow it up big and turn it into your very own business. Carter, you are going to do incredible things. Your Down syndrome doesn’t define you, but it is also one of the very best parts about you. Don’t ever forget that. You will be a light and inspiration to lots of people: do you know how I know that? Because you already are. We love you so much Carter.
Xoxo Mom
